Directed by Jon Humphries and Jason Hernandez, it was also filmed with Joey Ruiz, and Chris Middlebrook. They followed the Nike SB team riders Daryl Angel, David Clark, Shane O’Neill, Theotis Beasley, Justin Brock, and Grant Taylor to 10 countries. The project took 10 months in total and has been touted as one of the most progressive skate videos of the last few year, both in skateboarding and it’s eventual media production. The download is available till 24th of July. The Blue Ray Disc is also now available at SB retailers worldwide.
I have to say, I’m pretty impressed by this, even though I’m not the biggest fan of Skateboarding (See my earlier post this week about Hawk / Hoffman ) Whether you’re a fan of Nike shoes, Skateboarding or just awesome HD cinematography, this is well worth the download. Props up to Nike who have released it for free as well – perhaps it’s an anti consumerist statement of sorts.
I’m not the biggest skater or bmx’er, but like everyone I jumped on the bandwagon and got addicted to Tony Hawk on the PS1 (mainly due to the cracking soundrack), so have always a glancing interest in both extreme sports.
So I was watching the Best of Nass on channel 4, about a week ago which featured some fantastic tricks and displayed some of the best riders and skaters of the last few years. In 2006, to top off the weekend, Nass put on 2 of the big guns of Skateboarding and Bmxing – Matt Hoffman and Tony Hawk, and they performed a magical stunt together, which sent the crowd crazy! So just thought I’d post a clip of it…
ALSO For those who don’t know Nass 2009 happened this weekend, and it featured some of the best in skateboarding, BMX, freestyle moto-x and inline skating as well as a world class music bill over the three days. Bands including NERD, CKY, Zane Lowe, SHY FX and the King Blues.
